Deputy Director at A Common Voice
I bring both lived and professional expertise in supporting families raising youth with complex behavioral needs. As a parent of multiple children with behavioral complexities, I have firsthand experience navigating service systems, advocating for support, and building resilience within my family. Professionally, I partner with parents and caregivers by helping them understand and access resources, strengthen their voice within systems, and build confidence in their role. My approach is rooted in strengths-based, family-centered support meeting families where they are, honoring their experiences, and walking alongside them so they feel supported, empowered, and never alone in their journey.
My approach to supporting parents is rooted in empathy, respect, and partnership. Parents and caregivers are the experts on their own children and families, and my role is to walk alongside them as a supportive guide. I focus on meeting families where they are, honoring their experiences, and helping them recognize their strengths and resilience. By creating a safe, non-judgmental space, I support parents in building confidence, navigating systems, accessing resources, and strengthening their voice in advocating for their children and family needs. My goal is for every parent and caregiver to feel heard, empowered, and supported throughout their journey.
When working with me, parents and caregivers can expect a supportive, respectful, and non-judgmental partnership. I strive to create a space where families feel heard, valued, and understood. My role is to walk alongside parents as they navigate challenges, celebrate successes, and identify strengths within themselves and their families. I support caregivers in accessing resources, understanding systems, and building confidence in advocating for their children’s needs. Above all, parents can expect compassion, honesty, and consistent encouragement so they feel supported and never alone in their journey.
Cooking is my love language I thrive on exploring different cultures and cuisines and introducing my kids to new flavors. Sundays are our dedicated family cooking day, full of laughter, experiments (some more successful than others!), and quality time together. It’s one of my favorite ways to connect with my family and occasionally tests my kids adventurous taste buds!
Leading workshops and programs designed to empower and support parents and caregivers. “Surviving Parental Burnout” offers strategies to restore energy and resilience, “Mid-Summer Survival” provides practical tools for navigating seasonal challenges, and “Parents Empowering Parents” is a workshop for parents, by parents, focused on building connection, confidence, and Empowerment. In addition, I facilitate parental support groups, providing a safe, strength-based space for parents to share experiences, gain guidance, and build community.
Whether through 1:1 support, a parent support group, or a conversation, I’m here to help you recognize your strengths, build confidence, and feel empowered on your parenting journey so you never have to navigate it alone.
