A Common Voice COPE Project

FAQs

Lead Parent Support Specialist’s are parents who have navigated children’s behavioral health systems for their own children/youth.
Parents seeking support and/or help navigating a current situation share with a Lead Parent Support Specialist their current needs. Through listening to the parent’s concerns, together they can map out some next steps. Next steps may include: a link or warm hand off to a more appropriate service, set up more individual support through one to one sessions, and connect to the C.O.P.E. Project parent support groups.
Yes and it is easy! Parents can make their own referral. Providers can make a referral with the parent together; a warm hand off.

Be a parent/caregiver needing help navigating their current situation with their child/youth. Insurance is not necessary. There is no cost to parents for individual support or for attending parent support groups.

Challenges come in all forms. Big, small, new, urgent, ongoing, and complex. Lead Parent Support Specialists can offer support through the challenge presented or refer to a more appropriate service or support.
